The following is a transcript of recorded data from Redwood Research Garden #1 in Berkeley, California. Data is listed from latest to earliest. All data was recorded using a Hanna HI 9813-6N meter.


4/30/2011 - Suggested Future Reservoir Test Recipe

- 40 Gallons Tap
- 2000 mg Vitamin C
- 2 Tablespoons Ancient Humate
- 50 ml Molasses
* Let Sit Overnight
- 20 ml Silicon (0.5 ml/gal)
- 20 ml Microblast (0.5 ml/gal)
- 10 ml Cal-Mag (0.25 ml/gal)
- GH Grow/Micro/Bloom at 2-7-1 until 200-250 PPM
- Set pH at 5.5, Final PPM at 200-250


4/30/2011 - Reservoir Log Continued

Testing New Ingredients:

- General Hydro Grow, Micro, and Bloom at a 2-7-1 ratio.
Final NPK ratio works out to 5.86-1-3.29. Target ratio is 6-1-3.
- Botanicare Cal-Mag Micronutrient Additive (1 ml/gal)
- Earthjuice Microblast Micronutrient Additive (1 ml/gal)

Current Reservoir Readings: PPM 078, pH 7.3

Added the Following:

- 40 ml Silicon
- 40 ml Cal-Mag
(big PPM jump, use 0.25-0.5 ml/gal next time)
- 40 ml Microblast

Readings: PPM 202, pH 9.0

- 20 ml GH FloraGrow
- 70 ml GH FloraMicro
- 10 ml GH FloraBloom

Readings: PPM 417 TOO HIGH!

- Subtracted 10 Gallons to Waste
- Added 10-15 Gallons Tap to Dilute
- Adjusted pH to 5.5

Final Readings Before Application: PPM 298, pH 5.4-5.5



4/29/2011 - Reservoir Log

Added the Following:

- 40 Gallons Tap
- 5000 mg powdered Vitamin C
- 2 Tablespoons Ancient Humate
- 50 ml Molasses

*Left to Bubble Overnight

4/23/2011 - Slurry Data and Reservoir Log

Compost slurry tested at pH 7.8
Peat Moss slurry tested at pH 4.7

Testing New Ingredients:

- Vitamin C

Added the Following:

- 40 Gallons Tap
- 2000 mg Vitamin C
- 200 ml Ancient Humate
- 100 ml Granular Humate, not ground
No pH Change
- 1000 ml + Granular Humate added
pH down only to 6.6. LESSON: Don't use granular humate to pH reservoir
- 50 ml Silicon
- 2.5 Tablespoons 20-20-20
- Adjusted pH

* Final Readings Before Application: PPM 306 pH 5.7


4/15/2011 - Reservoir Log Continued

Reservoir PPM down from 072 to 061! pH 7.0

Added the Following:

- 150 ml Molasses
- 40 ml Dyna-Gro ProTekt (silicon)
- 1 Tablespoon 20-20-20 (PPM 232, pH 6.8)
- 250 ml more Humic Acids (PPM Stable, pH 6.3)
- 250 ml more Humic Acids (pH 5.8)
- 4 0z Mycorrhizae D.T.E.

*Final Readings Before Application: PPM 222, pH 5.5


4/13/2011 - Reservoir Log

Testing New Ingredients:

* Molasses
*Mycorrhizae
* Humic Acids


Added the Following:

- 40 Gallons Tap (PPM 047, pH 8.3)
- 100 ml Granular Humic Acids, Ground (PPM Stable, pH 7.8)
- 1 Tablespoon Ancient Humate (Stable)
- 2 Tablespoons Molasses (PPM 072, pH 7.1)
- 100 ml more Humic Acids (Stable)
- 1 Tablespoon Down To Earth Mycorrhizae

* Reservoir Left to Sit Overnight


4/05/2011 - Redwood Research Garden Reservoir Parameters

Current Reservoir: A 44-Gallon Brute Trash Can

Current Reservoir Recipe:

- 40 Gallons Tap Water (000-075 PPM)
- Add Ancient Humate until +005 PPM, or 5 ml/gal
- Add Silicon (Protekt) until +025 PPM, or 1 ml/gal
- Add GrowMore 20-20-20 to +125-175 PPM, or 1.5 tbsp/40 gal
- Set pH to 5.6-5.8

* Final Readings Before Application: PPM 200-250, pH 5.6-5.8
