5/15/2011 Scheduled Watering - Reservoir Log

5/15/2011 Scheduled Watering - Reservoir Log

Reservoir poured on 5/8 with:

- 40 Gallons Tap (PPM = 070, up from 045)
- 500 mg Vitamin C
- 1 Tablespoon Ancient Humate
- 50 ml Molasses

Local rain prevented an on-time 5/15 application of the reservoir
by three days. Weather did not stabilize to sunny until 5/18.

Reservoir Further Tended on 5/18 with:

* PPM = 120 pH = 5.0
- 10 ml Silicon
- 10 ml Microblast
- 5 ml Cal-Mag

* PPM = 140 pH = 5.6
- About 1 tbsp 20/20/20
- pHed

* FINAL READING BEFORE APPLICATION : pH = 5.4, PPM = 175

Notes & Analysis:

1) I will be using far less molasses next time in an attempt to conserve PPM limit in favor of 20/20/20 or another primary fertilizer. Molasses will be reduced from 50 ml to 15 ml (equivalent to the Ancient Humate).

2) Poured 40 gallons tap today for the 5/23 watering. Water PPM is back to 045! pH 8.3. Will allow to aerate for one day before applying the Vitamin C. This is to allow any chlorine to evaporate and preserve the effectiveness of the ascorbic acid against the chloramine. Will allow another day to pass before applying the humate and molasses. Must remember to add a second teaspoon of humate immediately before application. Will also consider an alternative substrate for mycorrhizae production and an alternate bacteria-based reservoir innoculant.
